Emergency & Evacuation Preparedness for People and Pets

Fire Season is coming and earthquakes are always on the menu in the PNW!

Gig Harbor’s CHEW Dog Rescue and the Peninsula Emergency Preparedness Coalition (PEP-C), two local non-profits, have teamed up to share information for emergency preparedness and evacuation for your family and your pets!

We will cover the hazards that affect our area, how uniquely geographically isolated Gig Harbor is, with Hwy 16 being the main artery into and out of town (with a vulnerable bridge on one end and Gorst (a liquefaction zone) on the other), and the importance of having a plan.
