Every year, hundreds of people participate in Harbor Hounds with dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds. Or, maybe we should say, hundreds of dogs participate with people of all shapes, sizes and breeds.
Harbor Hounds is a free day of fun with neighbors, family and your furry best friends that is presented by The Rotary Club of Gig Harbor Midday
This dog-focused festival features lots of vendors, food trucks, games for the kids, and the ever-popular Dog Contests where you can show off your dog’s special talents. The Dog Contests are a crowd favorite, presided over by our esteemed judge, Mayor Mary Barber!
Participate as an event sponsor, a vendor, an event participant, or all three! There is fun for everyone. Woof!
DOG CONTESTS
Dog Contests begin at 12 noon and are free to enter. They will be judged by Gig Harbor Mayor Mary Barber. Pups will compete for trophies and bragging rights in the following categories:
- Best Trick
- Best Kisser
- Best Tail Wager
- Best Dressed
- Musical Sit and Stay
Every pup can enter all the categories, with ribbons and certificates signed by Mary Barber for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. One outstanding canine participant will walk away with the coveted “Best-in-Show” trophy, a special photo session donated by Angel Photography and a $25 gift certificate from Lucky Dog.
To participate in the Dog Contests, simply stop by the Harbor Hounds Registration booth prior to 12 noon and sign up.
EVENT SCHEDULE
10 AM – 2 PM
Visit the vendor booths, get your vendor raffle card stamped and turn in at the Harbor Hounds
Registration booth by 1:45 pm to be eligible for some great prizes.
12 Noon
Dog Contests. Stop by the Harbor Hounds Registration booth prior to 12 noon to sign up. No fees to participate.
