A Gem in a Small Package!

Tippy is a blur of black and white as he runs around the yard playing with other small dogs. He is petite in size with the tip of his tail being white and has a delicate face for a sweet boy. He is about 5 months old and weighs about 5 lbs being some sort of a Terrier mix, maybe a Parsons Terrier.  He is very smart and has excellent house manners. He learned how to go thru the mesh screen door in just a few hours. He plays with great puppy exuberance and is a joy to be around. He plays with all his toys but doesn’t destroy any of them. He is eager to learn new things as well as commands. He is a very quick learner. He gets along with cats and small dogs. He hasn’t met any big dog yet. He does love to be held but learning new things commands most of his attention.

Due to his tiny size children 10 years and older are recommended. Tippy would do best in a household with someone at home to continue his socialization and training.

Your Next Steps

1. Complete an Adoption Application form.

2. Applicants are screened and reviewed together with the dog’s foster. If your application is selected, you will receive an invitation to meet with CHEW by video or phone call. If all looks like you are a good match for the dog, next comes the Meet & Greet.

3. Bring anyone who will live with the dog to the Meet & Greet, including any other dogs in the household. Typically, these meetings are held in a public park or pet store in Gig Harbor, WA.

4. CHEW’s adoption coordinator will conduct reference checks. CHEW will also conduct a home safety check.

5. If approved, you’ll meet again to sign the adoption paperwork, pay any fees, and take home your new furry friend!

Most of the dogs have been spayed or neutered (unless under the age of 6 months), vaccinated, checked for other health issues and microchipped. Adoption fee is $500.
